Swim Squad Success at Eckington Open Meet
A number of swimmers from City of Sheffield made the short journey over the Derbyshire border to participate in the Eckington open meet, held on 19th May 2002. Many of our squads were represented, with swimmers from Olympic 2, Olympic 1, Age-Group National and Keith's Youth Development squad all facing strong competition. A high number of personal best's were achieved on the day across all squads, and an excellent team spirit was demonstrated throughout. Most noticable achievements were obtained by Charlotte Broadbent and Braxton Timm, who were awarded overall 'Top Girl' and 'Top Boy' awards for their achievements. Braxton competed in the Boys Age 10 category, and obtained victories in the 100 IM, 50 FC, 50 BS, 50 Fly and 50 BK. Charlotte competed in the Girls Age 11 category and achieved victories in the 100 IM, 50 FC, 50 BS and 50 BK . Her time in the 100 IM was also a Championship best performance. They are pictured above, proudly displaying their top-swimmer trophies. Well done to them and the rest of the swimmers who competed. They were a credit to the City of Sheffield...!
