City of Sheffield finished a very creditable 5th in the National Final held at Everton Park Sports Centre, Liverpool on November 23th.

The Sheffield winners were: Charlotte Broadbent (Girls 12 years 50 back & 50 breast); and the 10 year-old girls freestyle & medley relay teams (Heather Hall, Lucy Spencer, Amy Webster and Ellie Faulkner)

The team swam magnificently on the day despite losing 2 key members due to any early protest from a competing club. In roughly two-thirds of all events, we achieved faster times compared to the Northern Final a month earlier. The team was weakened by the loss of the 2 swimmers, but this seemed to spur our kids on even more.

We're very proud of the team. Its the best result for some 9 years and we look forward to more success in the competition next year.

Congratulations to the City of Coventry (1st), City of Liverpool (2nd) and Sea Byrds (3rd) for superb efforts on the day.
