COSSS Return to Winning Ways in BML

A strong team from Junior Development, Jo2 and Jo3 attended the 1st round of this years Barnsley Minors League at Rossington SC on 8th February. This marked City of Sheffield's return to this competition after a number of years absence.

Competing against Rossington, Minsthorpe and Dearne Valley, we started off fairly slowly, but then bounced back strongly to win 35 of the 49 individual and relay events on the programme. The young team also benefited by being able to call on the experience and competitive wisdom of 2 'retired' senior national swimmers in Mike Taylor and Adam Carnell.

Congratulations to all involved. Our class on the day clearly shone through, and we saw some excellent swims and many PB's. The next round is at our own Ponds Forge pool on Sunday 25th April.

Results from Round 1:

1. City of Sheffield - 170 points
2. Rossington - 125 points
3. Dearne Valley - 101 points
4. Minsthorpe - 81 points
