Three swimmers deserve a particular mention: Jamie McHale chose the Champs as his 2nd competition since his comeback and swam very impressively to win 5 individual medals (1 gold, 3 silver and a bronze). Next up was Lauren Christian winning 4 medals, storming to gold in the 400IM and securing silver in the 200IM and 50 breast, and bronze in the 100 fly. Last, but not least, Simon Kerrigan with 2 individual golds (200 back, 400 IM) and a bronze (100 back).
Commiserations to Rob Hyde who missed a medal by 0.01 in the individual 50 Fly and kindly turned out on Sunday solely for the 4x50medley, where he went a full second quicker, despite feeling a little jaded after the weekend's exertions. Even allowing for the "rolling start", he would have won individual gold with that performance.
Thanks also to Alistair Crawford who swam a storming anchor on the 4x50 free to snatch us team silver- 23.42! However, despite his efforts, COSSS couldn't quite catch the GB Police team who took gold.
