As well as videos of the finals, there are also interviews with Becky Turner and Matt Johnson on the British Swimming website: http://www.swimming.org/asa/clubs-and-members/asa-nationals-olympic-trials-GB-swimmers/asa-nationals-olympic-trials-2012/9485/. The 400 IM final was an amazing race; Matt Johnson was 2 metres down with 15m to go and still came through to win, demonstrating the importance of swimmers learning to hold their breath in the last 10 metres of a race, even when you've already swum 390m!
Other standout performances were Dave Gregory's Yorkshire records in the 50 back and 200 back, and Lewis Coleman's Yorkshire record and gold medal swim in the 200 IM.
Russ Barber was delighted with the performance of COSSS swimmers. He said, "What a great week's racing from all of the Sheffield swimmers. We had many PBs and SBs, which is fantastic considering they are still untapered. It has been a long hard year, and the swimmers are in great shape, ready to show what they are made of in the summer meets. They have done their club and themselves very proud. We wish everybody the best of luck leading into their main competition period. Special mention must go to James, Brax and Dan who couldn't compete due to injuries. This is the most frustrating thing for any elite athlete, and they absolutely have our full support, and we wish them well."
