This site is now the home of our Gala Results and article archives.

We launched a new website in early 2022.  Take a look here.

Matt competed in the 400 free, winning silver in 3.51.04 (PB and club record) and in the 200 IM he finished 8th in 2.03.84 (PB). Impressively Matt won gold in both the 400 IM (4.17.26) and in the 200 fly in 1.58.50 (PB and club record).

Nick swam the 400 IM in 4.27.13 (equalling his PB) and made the final. Unfortunately he was unable to compete as a maximum of two swimmers from each nation are permitted to swim in the final and there were two British swimmers ahead of him in the list of qualifiers.

Head Coach Russ Barber said, "I'm really happy for both Matt and Nick. This has been the most important competition for them so far in their careers, and they both proved their class by being at their best when it counted. Matt swam outstandingly well under terrific pressure to bring home the 3 medals, and Nick did a fantastic job at his first GB International competition, having to wait until the very last day to swim. I'm very proud of both of them, and they have a great future."
