City of Sheffield swimmers were on form again at the recent NER Championships held at Ponds Forge. With five NER Champions crowned; Emily Longstone, Mollie Wood, Molly Grayson, Natasha Davies and Sam Budd, the City of Sheffield Swim Squad finished 2nd Club in the North East Region.
It was definitely girl power this year, winning 12 of the 14 Championship titles won!!! The second Saturday finals session was attended by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield and he was there to witness Emily Longstone, Mollie Wood and Molly Grayson win the first three Gold medals of the evening – well done!! The girls 'A' Teams have qualified in all three relays for the Nationals and the boys 'A' Team have qualified for the 4 x 200m and just waiting to find out if they have qualified for the 4 x 100m.
There were more National qualifying times achieved resulting in this year, the City of Sheffield, having a record number of National qualifiers and swims!! Fantastic swims all round and Head Coach, Russ Barber is more than pleased with the results and quality of swimming! Congratulations to all of you who took part!!
